Our Legacy Matters!

Everyone has a legacy. Whether rich or poor, single or married, every individual will someday leave behind those things for which they will be remembered.

We've purposed in our family to be legacy makers and our desire is to help you create a memorable legacy. Will you join us? We have several easy-to-implement ideas to help; just look for the Legacy Maker activities and challenges throughout the site. We've even made a few of them available to download.

Take a look at some of the ideas others have shared in the Legacy Matters blog. Or better yet, share one of your ideas for creating lasting memories with family and friends.

One way that we create memories in our home is to share a historical fact each morning to learn how others have created their own legacy. We'll publish some of more interesting facts below in the feature below.

This Week In Time...

December 6th, 1884. During ceremonies today, an aluminum cap was set in place atop the Washington Monument. At this time pure aluminum metal was rare and was as valuable as gold. Aluminum actually is the most abundant metal in the earth's crust, but it does not occur naturally in its pure form. In 1886 an inexpensive method was found for separating aluminum from earth minerals using electricity. The Washington Monument is 555 feet tall with its once-rare cap in place. Engraved at the top, facing east, is the simple message in Latin, Laus Deo, "Praise God."
